Submission Details
Support for Self Management of Health is a top priority for every health system. This 3-day international and interdisciplinary conference will provide a forum for researchers, health experts, policy makers and voluntary sector organisations to meet and to discuss their work and its implications. The conference will facilitate exchange of information about research findings and practice innovations and will stimulate discussion about their implications for health care provision and priorities for future research.
Abstracts relating to the following themes are particularly encouraged:
- Reaching marginalised groups with support for self-management
- Support for self-management in the voluntary sector
- Consulting skills for supporting self-management
- Values in developing and evaluating support for self-management
- Innovative research methods for support for self-management
- Using personal experience for support for self-management
For research presentations, please include:
- Background
- Aims
- Methods
- Findings
- Discussion, including relevance to policy & practice

For practice innovations, please include:
- Background
- Aims of service/support
- Details of innovation
- Evaluation of change
- Discussion of effects/implications
- Lessons learned/tips to share

Presentations may be:
- 15 minute oral presentation with 5 minutes audience discussion
or
- poster presentation
How your abstract will be assessed
Your abstract will be assessed anonymously by at least two peer reviewers who will rate it and consider:
- Is the work original/interesting?
- Is it relevant to self care and self-management?
- Are methods used appropriate?
- Are findings included?
The most highly rated abstracts will be included with reference to ensuring a balanced programme and interest for everyone attending. |
